Wemple’s blog has been appropriately withering in his evaluation of Rolling Stone’s “reporting” and motivations. He refers to this article from yesterday’s Post.

Laziness would be the charitable explanation as to why these friends weren’t contacted by Rolling Stone. As we’ve written in this space, Erdely’s mission appears to have been to present as sensational and damaging an account of fraternity excesses as she could gather. To have interviewed these three pivotal sources would have meant inviting the story’s demise.

No, it’s not the most balanced publication, and doesn’t have the most robust business reporting, but for political and world events, and here in the realm of local reporting, the Post still shows itself to be an incredible resource. I’m glad Bezos has kept the lights burning.
